Congratulations to Fahim Nasiri who won this year’s county championship, scoring 4/5 to finish a point clear of the field. 16 players took part in the club’s handicap blitz tournament. There was a 3- way tie for first place on 4 points out of 5 between Andy Morley, Sathsara Dissanayake and Martin Burrows.29 August 2025
Our move to the Old Aylestone Social Club has been put on hold for now, so we will continue to meet in the Wigston Liberal Club until further notice.25 July 2025
After 18 years at the Wigston Liberal club we have had to find a new venue. We are moving to the Old Aylestone Social Club, 1 Middleton St, Aylestone, Leicester LE2 8LU. Until we move the club will continue to be open as usual every Thursday evening at the Wigston Liberal Club. Our first night at the new venue will be Thursday 11th September.30 May 2025
At the AGM the Player of the Year was awarded to Arav Ajaykumar who won all his 11 games in the league. This is the second year in a row that the trophy has been won with a 100% score. The full statistics for the season can be found here. The Junior Player of the Year was won by Laurence Norton who had a very succesful season on board 1 for the 4th team and gained over 150 rating

We retained the Wylie Cup after a narrow win against Anstey in the
last round.
Our team missed out on the Harrod Cup after losing their final match
to Syston.
August 2025
Our team remain top in the Harrod Cup after beating Kirby Muxloe.
Our Wylie Cup team are also top after a default win against
Loughborough.
July 2025
The Wylie Cup team beat Ashby and are top of the table with 2
matches to go. Our Harrod team are also top after beating Ashby 1. A
succesful month was completed by a win in the Chapman cup over
Anstey,
June 2025
The Summer Cups are underway. Our Harrod Cup team played
Market Harborough twice, drawing with their 2nd team and beating
their 3rd team.
The Wylie Cup team started with a win against Thurnby. The
Chapman Cup team lost to a strong Market Harborough side.
May 2025
The Division 1 championship came down to the final match against
Syston 1. After a hard fought match with no draws, Wigston 1 won 3-
2 to retain the league title.
It was also a succesful week for Wigston 5 who beat Braunstone 2 to
win Division 4.
